Objective of the Game

"Cosmic Eidex" is a card game based on the Swiss Jass, allowing for a tactical game between three players. The main objective is to achieve at least the number of tricks each player has declared before each round. You play multiple rounds, and the player with the most points at the end wins the game.

Game Materials

• 36 cards in three suits: Acorns, Roses, and Spades, each from nine to Ace.
• A scorepad or sheet of paper to note points.

Setup

1. Card Selection: The game uses a special deck with 36 cards, each suit containing cards from Ace to Nine.
2. Players: Cosmic Eidex is played with exactly three players.
3. Dealing Cards: Each player receives nine cards at the beginning.

Gameplay

1. Determining the Leader: At the start of each round, a leader is randomly chosen.

2. Declaring Tricks: - Starting with the leader, each player has the opportunity to declare the number of tricks they believe they can win in that round. - The player who declares the highest number becomes the "game master" and decides the trump suit or declares a no-trump round.

3. Playing the Round: - The leader starts the game by playing a card to the middle. - In a clockwise order, the other players play their cards. - The highest card of the led suit wins unless a trump card is played. In that case, the highest trump wins. - The winner of the trick leads the next.

4. Scoring: - A player receives one point for each trick won. - A player who wins exactly the number of tricks declared receives additional bonus points. - Losing points occur if fewer or more tricks are won than declared.

Strategy Tips

• Utilize Cards Wisely: Determine which tricks you are sure to win and make declarations accordingly.
• Observe Opponents: Watch which cards are played and try to gauge what cards other players may have.
• Flexibility: Sometimes it is better to aim for fewer tricks to set up more points in later rounds.

Game End

The game ends when a predetermined number of rounds have been played, or a player reaches a specific score. The player with the most points is declared the winner.
