Objective of the Game
Cee-lo is a fast-paced dice game where the goal is to roll the best combination with three six-sided dice to win the pot.
Game Materials
- Three six-sided dice (D6)
- Bets (usually money)
Setup
- Choose a banker from the group. The banker is responsible for the bank and starts the game.
- All players, including the banker, must place a bet into the pot. The amount is agreed upon beforehand.
Gameplay
1. The Banker Rolls
- The banker begins by rolling the three dice.
- The goal for the banker is to achieve a winning combination.
2. Winning Combinations
- 4-5-6: This is the best possible outcome. The banker wins immediately and receives the entire pot.
- Trips (e.g., 1-1-1, 2-2-2, etc.): Three identical numbers. The highest set of trips wins. The banker wins if he/she rolls the highest trips (3-3-3 is higher than 2-2-2, etc.).
- Pair and Point: Two same numbers and one different number. The different number is the point of the roll. For example, a roll of 2-2-4 results in a point of 4.
- 1-2-3: This is the worst roll and results in an immediate loss for the banker. All bets are distributed to opponents.
3. Players Respond
- If the banker fails to roll a winning combination, the players can attempt to beat them. Players roll the dice one after another.
- Each player tries to roll a better combination than the banker.
- The player with the best combination wins the pot.
- In case of a tie, the pot is typically carried over to the next roll or split between players, depending on agreed rules.
Tips & Strategies
- Know the Probabilities: Understand which roll outcomes are more likely and which are hard to beat.
- Tactical Betting: Due to the high variance in the game, it might be wise to bet small, especially if you are not the banker.
- Stay Calm: Cee-lo is highly luck-based - keep calm and enjoy the game!
The game is easy to understand, but each round is different and full of surprises, making it a fun game for social settings or bars.
