Objective
Wauri is a simple card game played with a standard 52-card Poker deck. The objective is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
Setup
- Number of Players: 2 to 6 players.
-
Cards: A standard 52-card poker deck without jokers.
-
Shuffle the deck thoroughly.
- Deal the cards evenly to all players. If there are leftover cards, set them aside, face down.
- Each player takes their cards in hand and reviews them.
Gameplay
- The player to the dealer's left begins. Play proceeds clockwise.
- Each player must play one card from their hand to the middle of the table to start a discard pile.
- The card played determines the "rule" for the next player:
- Number Cards (2-10): The next player must play a card of equal or higher value.
- Face Cards (J, Q, K): These cards have no special function. The next player keeps playing a card of equal or higher value.
- Ace (A): This card can be played at any time and the next player must start a new round with any card.
- If a player cannot play a suitable card, they must pick up the entire discard pile.
- A round ends when a player has no cards left.
Card Hierarchy
- Card values proceed as follows: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack (J), Queen (Q), King (K), Ace (A).
Winning
- The first player to have no cards left in hand wins the game.
Tips
- Strategy: Try to get rid of high cards like Queens and Kings early in the game to avoid having to pick up the entire pile.
- Tactic: Wisely playing an Ace can help you avoid picking up the pile when you're in a tough spot.
Enjoy playing Wauri!
