Objective of the Game
The MAD Card Game is a humorous and chaotic card game based on the popular MAD magazine. The objective is to force as many crazy actions on other players and be the first to get rid of all your hand cards.
Setup
- Number of Players: 2 to 12 players
- Shuffle the deck well and deal 5 cards to each player.
- The remaining cards form the draw pile, placed face down in the center.
- The oldest player starts, and play proceeds clockwise.
Gameplay
- Playing Cards: Each player can play one card per turn and must follow the instructions on the card. There are different types of cards:
- Action Cards: Allow a player to perform specific actions or target them at other players, such as "Draw two cards," "Swap hands," etc.
- Special Cards: These cards have special effects that can impact the game, such as "Reverse" (changes the order of play).
-
Rule Change Cards: Add new rules to the game or modify existing ones.
-
Drawing Cards: At the end of their turn, a player draws as many cards as needed to have 5 cards in hand again (unless a rule change card states otherwise).
-
Winning the Game: The first player to completely get rid of their hand cards wins the game.
Strategy Tips
- Stay Alert: Keep track of which special or rule change cards are in play, as these can drastically affect gameplay.
- Timing is Key: Play action cards at the right moment to gain the maximum advantage or disrupt opponents.
- Be Flexible: Since the rules of the game can change with certain cards, it’s important to stay adaptable and adjust your tactics accordingly.
Special Features
- The game can become very unpredictable and chaotic, especially with the maximum number of players.
- Rule change cards ensure that each game plays out differently, adding high replay value.
The MAD Card Game requires no special card game experience and offers a fun and varied gaming experience for the whole family.
