Objective
In "Rette sich wer kann" (also known as "Saboteur"), players aim to reach hidden goals that either help find the treasure or sabotage the treasure hunt. It's a semi-cooperative card game where players are secretly divided into two teams.
Setup
The game consists of cards with various functions and roles. Cards are shuffled and dealt to each player. For more than seven players, certain rules are adjusted.
- Role Distribution: Each player draws a role card, determining whether they are a digger or a saboteur. The identity remains secret.
- Destination Cards: Three cards are laid out face down - one with the treasure and two without.
Rules
At the beginning of a round, each player may play a hand card or discard it. Path cards are used to build a path from the start card to one of the destination cards.
- Playing Path Cards: They form the path from the start card to the destination cards.
- Action Cards: These allow players to influence others' strategies by breaking or repairing tools.
- Tool Cards: Miners can be blocked by action cards or repaired by counteractions.
- Saboteurs: Try to keep paths chaotic or incomplete.
- Round End: A round ends when no player can play or when the treasure is reached.
End of the Game and Scoring
At the end of each round, players count their gold pieces. Miners win if they reach the treasure, otherwise, saboteurs win. The player with the most gold pieces after multiple rounds wins the game.
