Objective of the Game
In Samurai Swords (also known as Shogun or Ikusa), the objective is to gain control over feudal Japan. Players assume the roles of Daimyos, leaders of Samurai warriors, competing for supremacy in the region.
Components
- A game board depicting a map of feudal Japan
- Playing pieces representing Samurai, Daimyos, fortresses, and Ninjas
- Samurai swords to indicate round progress
- Cards, including modern warfare machines and event cards
- Dice to determine conflict outcomes
- Money in the form of Buhei (game currency)
Setup
- Each player chooses a color and receives the corresponding figures.
- Starting positions are placed on the board according to instructions.
- Players receive a starting capital of Buhei and some basic units.
- Each round consists of several phases: Income, Recruitment, Movement, Combat, and Ninja Activity.
Gameplay
- Income Phase:
- Each player collects income based on the number of controlled provinces.
