Objective
The objective of EinStein würfelt nicht! is to be the first player to move one of your own pieces, called Spitzenstein, into the designated goal space on the opponent's side of the board.
Components
- A 6x6 game board
- 6 dice for each player, numbered 1 to 6
- A single six-sided die
Setup
- Each player takes six dice and places them with the number facing up in the starting row on their side of the board. For the player with the white pieces, this is the first row; for the player with the black pieces, it is the last row.
- Ensure the dice are arranged in ascending order from 1 to 6.
How to Play
- Players decide who goes first, typically by rolling the die, with the highest roll going first.
- The active player rolls the six-sided die to determine which piece they can move.
- The roll indicates which numbered piece can be moved.
- If the rolled piece is already captured or off the board, the player may move the piece with the number closest to the roll result that is still on the board.
- A player can move their piece exactly one space diagonally, or straightforward, or sideways.
- A player can capture an opponent's piece by landing on a square occupied by an opponent.
- Players alternate turns until one player moves a piece into the goal square, located on the corner of the opponent’s board.
Winning the Game
The game ends as soon as a player moves their piece into the opponent's goal square. That player wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Whenever possible, move your Spitzenstein to reach the goal faster.
- Block your opponent's path early by positioning yourself defensively.
- Carefully consider which of your pieces you can risk and which you should preserve.
EinStein würfelt nicht! requires strategic thinking and planning ahead to mitigate the luck aspects of dice-rolling and to emerge victorious.
