Mü & Mehr
Objective:
Mü & Mehr is a collection of card games, with the main component being the game "Mü." The objective of these games can differ depending on the mode being played, but generally, it involves collecting points through strategic card play and trick-taking.
Components
- A set of 60 cards in 5 colors (Yellow, Red, Green, Blue, Black), each with values from 0 to 9 and special cards like the Sküs.
- Rules for various games: Mü, Wimmüln, Ü & Über, The Fifth Beam, Duel, Safariü, and Ghost
General Rules (using "Mü" as an example)
- Number of Players: Mü can be played with 4 to 6 players.
- Dealing Cards: Each player receives a hand of 12 cards.
- Bidding Round: A round of bidding where players declare how many tricks they think they can achieve. A player can also volunteer as the "Vice," who aims to assist the bidder.
- Playing the Tricks:
- The player with the highest bid becomes the "Main Player" and starts playing by choosing a trump card voluntarily.
- Playing Cards: The game proceeds clockwise, and players must follow the lead suit if possible. If they cannot, they may play a trump card to potentially win the trick.
- The Sküs is the strongest trump card.
- Scoring: Points are distributed based on the tricks won and the previous bids made.
Strategies and Nuances
- Bidding: Players should carefully evaluate their hand and bid realistically to avoid accumulating too many penalty points.
- Vice Role: The Vice strategically supports the bidder in collecting joint tricks.
- Trump Suit Usage: A wise choice of trump suits can significantly impact the game's outcome.
- Opponent Observation: It is advantageous to observe the cards played by opponents to better assess their possible strategies.
Mü & Mehr provides variety through its many game modes and fosters both tactical thinking and teamwork, particularly in games requiring cooperation.
