Objective
In Tricky Ways, the goal is to showcase dexterity, planning, and strategic thinking to be the first to guide your marbles to the finish. Players must find an appropriate path through the maze by shifting tiles and creating trackways for their marbles.
Game Components
- A game board with a square grid layout.
- Movable tiles with paths on them.
- Marbles in various colors for each player.
- A starting and finishing line.
Setup
- Each player chooses a color and takes the corresponding number of marbles.
- The game board is set up by randomly placing the tiles on it.
- Each player places their marbles on the assigned starting line.
Gameplay
- Player's Turn:
- The player may either move a tile on the board or bring a marble into play.

The goal is to create a continuous path from the starting line to the finish line so the marble can roll into the target.

Moving Tiles:
- Players can shift tiles within a row or column.
- Tiles may only be shifted if not blocked by other marbles.

If a new path is created by moving tiles, the player can move their marbles along the newly created paths.

Moving a Marble:
- If the player has created a clear path, they can move one of their marbles along it as far as the path allows.

Once a marble reaches the end of a path, the movement ends.

Reaching the Goal:
- The aim of the game is to be the first to bring all of one's own marbles to the finish line.
Winning Conditions
The player who first places all their marbles into the goal area wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Planning and Blocking: Try not only to plan your path carefully but also prevent your opponents from easily creating their paths.
- Consider Multiple Paths: Quick paths to the finish are crucial. Often it can be helpful to consider how tiles might be shifted in the next turn to create the best possible path.
- Play Defensively: Block key access points of opponents if you cannot use them directly to your advantage.
