Game Rules
Round Flow
-
Trick Prediction: Each player makes a secret prediction of how many tricks they will win in the round.
-
Playing the Cards:
- The player to the left of the dealer starts by playing any card.
- Other players must follow suit if possible. If not, they can play any card, perhaps a trump card.
-
The player who plays the highest card in the leading suit or the highest trump wins the trick.
-
End of the Round:
- After all cards have been played, each player counts their won tricks.
Scoring System
- A player scores points if their prediction exactly matches the number of tricks they've won.
- For an exact prediction, typically a player scores 10 points plus the number of predicted tricks.
- There are no points or negative points (e.g., -1 per trick off the prediction) for incorrect predictions.
Strategic Tips
- Predictions: Accurately assess your hand strength. Pay attention to trump suits and high cards.
- Tactical Play: Keep low cards to potentially switch suits and play a trump when necessary.
- Bluffing: Occasionally, make conservative predictions to surprise others.
Special Features: - Some variations involve bonus points for winning no tricks. - Keep predictions secret to prevent strategic advantages for others.
