Objective:
In Chameleon, players work together to identify a secret word - except for one: the Chameleon. The Chameleon’s objective is to remain undetected while others try to unmask them.
Setup:
- Number of Players: 3 to 8 players.
- Cards: Player cards that indicate whether you are a regular player or the Chameleon.
- Word cards: Each have multiple words for the secret word selection.
- Code card: Indicates to players which word on the card is the secret word.
How to Play:
- Preparation:
- Each player receives a player card to determine if they are a regular player or the Chameleon.
- A word card and a code card are placed in the center.
- Regular players use the code card to determine which word is the secret word.
-
The Chameleon does not know the secret word.
-
Description Round:
- Starting with a random player, each player describes the secret word using a single word related to it.
-
The Chameleon must bluff and choose a word to fit in without revealing their identity.
-
Discussion and Voting Phase:
- After everyone has spoken a word, a discussion begins.
- Players attempt to identify the Chameleon by asking questions and arguing why someone might be the Chameleon.
-
A vote is conducted to decide who they believe the Chameleon is.
-
Reveal:
- The player with the most votes reveals their card.
- If the Chameleon is identified, they have one last chance to guess the secret word to "escape" with some degree of victory.
- If the Chameleon is not found, they win.
Strategic Tips:
- Regular Players: Ensure your description is informative enough to reveal the word but not too specific to help the Chameleon guess.
- Chameleon: Listen keenly and try to provide a word that fits the group discussion without giving obvious clues.
Chameleon is a fast-paced, conversation-based game that requires both logical thinking and deception skills.
