Objective of the Game
The goal of Dufte Hundert is to be the first to get rid of all your cards while dodging points. Each player aims to end with as few points as possible, and the player with the least points at the end wins the game.
Game Components
- A unique deck of theme-specific cards (e.g., flower motifs)
- Score pad to keep track of each player's points
Setup
- Thoroughly shuffle the deck of cards.
- Decide on a dealer who will deal the cards initially. The dealer changes every round in a clockwise manner.
- Each player receives 7 cards. The remaining cards form a draw pile in the center of the table.
- Turn over the top card from the draw pile and place it next to it face-up to start the discard pile.
Gameplay
The game is played in rounds, starting with the player to the left of the dealer. Players take turns in a clockwise direction.
Player's Turn
- Play a card: Play a card from your hand that matches either the number or the theme (e.g., flower motif) of the top card on the discard pile.
- If you cannot play a matching card, you must draw a card from the draw pile.
-
If the drawn card can be played, you may play it immediately.
-
Special Cards: Certain cards can change the game dynamics.
- Dufte Hundert Card: This card lets you declare a new theme for the following players.
- Reverse Card: This card reverses the direction of play.
-
Skip: The next player loses their turn.
-
Scoring: If you're the first to get rid of all your cards, you score 0 for the round. Other players tally up the values of their remaining cards as penalty points.
Ending the Game
The game ends when a player reaches a predetermined number of points, usually 100. The player with the fewest points is declared the winner.
Strategic Tips
- Try to get rid of your cards as quickly as possible to avoid penalty points.
- Use special cards strategically to shift the game flow to your advantage.
