Objective of the Game
In Inkognito, the goal is to work together with your partner as a secret agent to complete a secret mission without the rival team discovering your identities.
Game Materials
- Game board representing Venice with canals and streets
- Various playing pieces including 4 double agents
- Several Identity cards
- Mission cards
- Secret codes
- A knowledge cards holder
Setup
Each player receives an Identity card and a Mission card secretly. The identity card determines the player's secret role and partner, while the mission card outlines the goals the player pair must achieve. The playing pieces are placed in their starting positions on the game board.
Gameplay
The game is played in rounds, with each player taking the following actions on their turn:
-
Movement: Each figure can move a number of steps defined by the dice. Players can move via bridges or with gondolas.
-
Interrogation: If a figure lands on the same space as another figure, the player can interrogate the other.
-
The Interrogation: The interrogating player asks the other to show two secret pieces of information (e.g., physical traits such as height or color) using the knowledge cards holder, one of which is true, while the other may be false.
-
Information Exchange: Once you identify your real partner, you can exchange information about your respective secret missions.
Special Rules
- Secrecy: All actions should be handled discreetly to keep your identity and mission secret.
- Bluffing: Players may present false information to confuse opponents.
- Revelation: If a player believes they have correctly deduced their partner's identity and the secret mission, they can reveal these to the partner and attempt the mission if the information is correct.
End of the Game
The game ends when a pair successfully completes their secret mission or if someone unsuccessfully attempts to reveal their mission prematurely.
Strategy Tips
- Deduction Skills: Pay attention to the information others provide and try to verify its authenticity.
- Bluffing: Use tactical misinformation to mislead opponents, but be careful not to disclose too much information.
Inkognito requires both tactical thinking and the use of deception skills, making it an exciting game for four players.
