Hausnummer
Objective: The objective of "Hausnummer" is to achieve the highest score by skillfully forming number combinations.
Number of Players: 3 to 5 players
Materials Needed: A standard deck of 52 playing cards is needed. The numbered cards (2 to 10) bear their face value, while all face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10. Aces can count as either 1 or 11, depending on what's more advantageous for the player.
Gameplay: 1. Preparation: - Each player draws 5 cards face down from the deck. The remaining cards form the draw pile placed in the center of the table. 2. Turn Phase: - The player whose turn it is draws a card from the draw pile. - They then decide to discard one card from their hand onto the open discard pile. 3. Rounding Up: - A round ends as soon as a player combines all their cards into a valid combination called a "Hausnummer" that represents a thousands, hundreds, tens, and units digit. - Players aim for the highest possible value, e.g., 5-8-7-9 for 5879 points. - The other players are allowed one final turn each. 4. Scoring: - The player with the highest number wins the round and earns points equal to their Hausnummer. Numbers not forming part of the Hausnummer do not count toward the score.
- Ending the Game:
- The game ends after a predetermined number of rounds or when a player reaches a set score decided at the beginning.
Strategic Tips: - Look for good combinations: Since the highest number wins, aim to form high-value numbers. - Bluffing: Act as if you have a lower number to mislead others. - Card memory: Remembering which cards were discarded and which likely remain in the deck is crucial.
Special Rules: - If a player reaches an identical value as another player's final number, the next highest card decides the winner.
This game combines strategic thinking with an element of luck and bluffing, making it perfect for social gatherings.
