Objective of the Game
Kuhschwanz (also known as "Bullshit") is a fun card game where the goal is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
Game Materials
- A standard deck of playing cards (52 cards)
Setup
- Shuffling the Deck: Shuffle the deck thoroughly.
- Dealing Cards: Deal as many cards as possible, evenly, to all players. Some players may have more or fewer cards, depending on the total number of players.
- Playing Area: The remaining deck is not used and can be set aside.
Game Play
- Determine Start Player: The player to the left of the dealer begins the game.
- Playing the First Card: The starting player places one or more cards face down on the table and states aloud what cards they are (e.g., "two threes").
- Next Player: The next player must also place facedown cards, claiming they are of the same rank (e.g., "three threes").
- Challenge (Calling Bullshit): Other players can question the validity of the claim. If a player believes the placed cards do not match the claim, they can call "Bullshit."
- If the challenge is correct (i.e., the cards do not match the claim), the lying player must pick up all the cards on the table.
- If the challenge is incorrect (i.e., the cards match the claim), the challenging player must pick up all the cards on the table.
- Continuing: The game continues clockwise.
- Changing Rank: After a successful "Bullshit," the next player can change the rank of the cards being claimed (e.g., from threes to fours).
End of the Game
The game ends when a player has no cards left in their hand. This player wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Bluffing: Bluffing is often necessary to win. Be confident in your claims.
- Challenge Wisely: Only call bluff if you are sure; otherwise, you often end up with many cards.
- Observation: Pay attention to which cards have already been played to make informed decisions.
