Objective of the Game
The objective of Life and Death is to be the first player to gain a set number of victory points by effectively using life and death cards to navigate your playing piece through the various stages of life.
Components
- A board depicting a cycle of life and death phases
- Life and Death cards
- One playing piece per player
- Victory point markers
- Dice
Setup
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Each player selects a playing piece and places it on the start space.
- Shuffle the life and death cards separately and place them face down next to the board.
- Distribute a certain number of starting victory points to each player, e.g., 5.
Gameplay
The game proceeds in rounds, each consisting of the following phases: 1. Draw Cards: Each player draws a card from either the life or death deck (depending on the current life phase on the board). 2. Roll and Move: The player rolls a die and moves their piece accordingly. 3. Play Cards: Players may play cards from their hand to trigger additional effects. - Life cards provide beneficial effects, such as extra points or moves. - Death cards can impose negative effects on opponents or trigger special events. 4. Score Victory Points: At the end of each turn, players count their victory points and adjust their markers.
