Objective of the Game
Neunzehnerrufen is an engaging card game where the aim is to be the first to reach 19 points. This game requires both luck and strategic thinking, as players strive to optimize their points in each round.
Setup
- The game is played with a traditional deck of cards (32 cards; French deck without jokers).
- Number of Players: At least 2, ideally 3-4 players.
Gameplay
- Shuffling and Dealing: The dealer shuffles the cards, and each player is dealt 4 cards.
- Objective: Each player attempts to reach an exact score of 19 by calling and exchanging cards to optimize their hand.
- Calling: On their turn, each player can call a number that represents their current best score. The score is calculated as follows:
- Number cards are worth their face value (7-10).
- Face cards have different values:
- Jack: 2 points
- Queen: 3 points
- King: 4 points
- Ace: 11 points
- Exchanging: After calling or without calling, the player can exchange a card with the draw pile.
- End of the Round: When someone calls 19, the round ends immediately, and the scores are compared.
- Scoring: Only the player who called 19 can earn points. If exactly 19, they receive 3 points; if below or above, they score nothing, and the round does not continue. If no player reaches 19, the best player (closest to 19) gains 1 point.
Special Rules
- Strategy: A skillful balance between calling and exchanging is crucial. Calling too early can be risky.
- Nuances: Pay attention to card sequence and possible card values.
Winning the Game
The game ends once a player reaches a total of 19 points. This player is the winner.
Tips for Beginners
- Try to analyze card combinations and calculate scores mentally.
- Observe which cards opponents draw or discard.
- Consider whether it makes sense to call or continue exchanging.
