Objective of the Game
The objective of Bolix is to score points by placing and stacking game stones. Players aim to occupy the best positions on the board while strategically blocking their own stones and those of their opponents.
Game Components
- A board with a grid of 7x7 squares
- 50 stones in various colors (each player has a color)
- Scoreboard and scoring markers to track points
Setup
- Each player selects a color and takes the corresponding 10 stones.
- Players place their scoring markers on the scoreboard at zero.
- Determine the starting player by lot or agreement.
Gameplay
The game proceeds in several rounds, with each round consisting of a series of player turns.
- Player's Turn: On their turn, a player may place one of their stones on an empty square of the board or on top of an existing stone (maximum 3 stones per stack).
- Scoring: For placing a stone, a player scores for every complete row (horizontal, vertical, diagonal) of three identically colored stones formed.
- Blocking: Players can strategically attempt to block opponents by occupying critical points on the board.
- Players take turns until all stones are placed or no more meaningful moves are possible.
Special Rules
- Stacking Rule: A stack can have a maximum of 3 stones. Any attempt to stack more makes the move invalid.
- End Scoring: At the end, unplayed stones of opponents are counted and deducted from your score.
Winning
The game ends when all stones are placed or no more moves can be made. The player with the highest score wins.
Strategies
- Try to create multiple rows by placing stones that complete multiple rows simultaneously.
- While aiming to place your stones advantageously, observe opponents to disrupt their plans. Block critical points.
- Monitor remaining stones and plan how to affect the final scoring.
