Objective of the Game
The objective of Spinderella is to safely guide your four ants across the board while trying to catch the opponents' ants using a spider on a mechanical mechanism.
Setup
- Game Board: Set up the three-dimensional board where the lower level is the forest floor for ants and walls with open areas for spiders.
- Ants: Each player has four ant tokens of their color, placed on their respective starting positions.
- Dice: There are three special dice: a white ant die, a brown spider die, and a green leaf die.
- Spiders: The spiders hang from threads and are movable via magnetic force to catch ants.
Gameplay
-
Turn Order: Determine the starting player and continue clockwise.
-
Rolling the Dice: The active player rolls all three dice simultaneously and performs the actions in any order:
- Ant Roll (white die): Move one of your own or a neutral ant the number of spaces shown. Landing precisely on another ant sends that ant back to the start.
- Spider Roll (brown die): Move the spider mechanism horizontally.
-
Leaf Roll (green die): Used to alter the board or perform special functions (varies in different rule adaptations).
-
Catching Ants: If the spider ensnares an ant, it returns to its starting position.
Special Features
- Team Strategy: It can be strategic to move neutral ants to disadvantage opponents or optimize your own moves.
- Interactive Play: The mechanical and magnetic elements make for a dynamic 3D experience requiring both skill and strategy.
- Planning and Foresight: Avoid clumping your ants together as they can become easy targets for the spider.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player successfully leads all four of their ants to the finish line, thus winning the game!
