Objective of the Game
The objective of Bamboleo is to remove as many wooden pieces as possible from an unsteady, hovering platform without causing it to fall over.
Game Components
- 1 balancing cone
- 1 wooden platform
- multiple wooden game pieces of different sizes and shapes
Setup
- Place the cone on a table.
- Position the platform on the cone so that it hovers in the air.
- Evenly distribute all the wooden game pieces across the platform.
Rules
- Turn Order: Players agree on an order in which they take turns.
- Player's Turn: During their turn, a player must remove a game piece from the platform carefully, ensuring not to disturb the balance of the platform or cause it to topple.
- Scoring: Each successfully removed piece earns the player points. If successfully removed without the platform falling, the piece is kept for scoring.
- End of Turn: After a piece is removed or if the platform falls, the next player proceeds.
- Platform Falls: If a player causes the platform to fall, the game ends, and no further points are awarded for that turn.
End of Game
The game can last either for a set number of rounds or until no more pieces can be removed without tumbling. The player with the most collected pieces wins the game.
Strategy
- Consider Weight and Position: Maintain the platform's balance as pieces are removed. The center of gravity should be considered when taking away pieces.
- Risk vs Reward: Players can choose to remove high-value but riskier pieces, understanding they may cause the platform to topple.
Special Features
- The core challenge of Bamboleo is balance. A carefully calculated move can determine the course of the game.
- The game is both an exercise in dexterity and strategic thinking about consequences and balance.
