Objective of the Game
The objective of Verflucht! is to work together as a team to prevent cursed items from entering your collection. You aim to fend off as many curses as possible and gather the fewest number of cursed items.
Components
- Cards: There are different types of cards in the game: items, protective spells, and curses. A total of 104 cards are included.
- Curse Markers: These help you keep track of your strategy.
Setup
- Deck Setup: Shuffle all cards thoroughly and place them as a face-down stack in the center of the table.
- Curse Markers: These are placed in the center for all players to access.
- Starting Player Marker: Choose a starting player.
Game Play
The game is played over several rounds, each consisting of the following phases:
- Draw a Card: The current player draws a card from the stack.
- Item: This card remains face-up on the table.

Curse: This card attacks immediately and must be dealt with.

Fend Off Curses: To fend off curses, all players must work together, using their protective spell cards or collected items wisely.

Collect Items: Players can decide each round whether to collect face-up items for future curse defense. Be mindful that collected items may become cursed if you cannot fend off the curse.

New Starting Player: After the round, the starting player rotates clockwise.
Special Features
- Cooperative Strategy: Since the game is cooperative, you need to communicate well and use your cards wisely to effectively fend off curses.
- Timing: Decide wisely when to use your powerful spells, as they are limited.
- Flexibility: Not every curse needs to be defeated, but your goal should be to collect as few cursed items as possible.
End of the Game
The game ends when the draw stack is empty and all remaining curses have been resolved. Count the number of cursed items. The fewer cursed items you have, the better your team has performed.
