Objective of the Game

Chicago is a dice game where the goal is to achieve the highest score in a round. Players take turns rolling dice, attempting to maximize their score through a combination of risk-taking and strategy.

Preparation

• Number of Players: At least 2 players, no maximum limit.
• Required Materials: A dice cup, five six-sided dice, and paper and pencil for scorekeeping.

Game Play

Each player can roll the dice up to three times in their turn. The player can decide how many dice to set aside with each throw to achieve the best combination. The aim is to roll the highest possible score.

Dice Combinations and Scoring

• Ones and Fives: These dice are valuable, as they are the only singles that count:
• A one is worth 100 points.
• A five is worth 50 points.
• Three of a kind: If there are at least three of one kind, they count as follows:
• Three ones score 1000 points.
• Other triplets score the number * 100.
• Four, Five of a Kind, etc.: These combinations increase the points accordingly.
• Special Combination: 1-2-3-4-5-6 (a straight), often called "Chicago", scores 1500 points.

Note: A round ends when a player "stops" or cannot make a valuable combination.

Turn Mechanics and Risk

• After each roll, the player decides whether to set values aside or roll again.
• A player can stop rolling after any roll and record the current score.
• Caution: If a player rolls without scoring any points, all accumulated points for the turn are lost.

End of the Game

The game concludes when a player reaches a predetermined score (often 10,000). The player with the highest score wins.
