Objective of the Game
In Alaska, also known as "Gold Digger", the objective is to collect as many gold bars as possible by strategically placing construction plans and controlling valuable regions.
Prerequisites
A game board representing the landscape of Alaska is needed. Each player receives a certain number of construction plans and a player token.
Game Setup
- The Board: Place the game board in the center, showing different areas that may contain gold.
- Each player receives five construction plans and a token, initially placed on a starting space.
- The gold bars are shuffled face-down and evenly distributed on the marked areas of the game board.
Game Progress
The game is played in turns that alternate as follows:
-
Place Construction Plan: Each player takes turns placing a construction plan on a free space on the board. The construction plans are numbered and determine the value of the areas controlled.
-
Move Token: After placing construction plans, each player may move their token up to three spaces in a straight direction. Tokens can only end their movement on free spaces.
-
Control Areas: At a specific round (depending on the number of rounds), check which player controls the gold fields. The player with the most construction plans in a land receives all gold bars from that area.
-
Collect Gold: The obtained gold bars are stored in each player’s personal reserve. If two or more players have placed the same number of construction plans, the highest plan value wins.
-
End of Round: The game ends after a set number of rounds or when all gold bars are distributed.
Winning Conditions
The player with the most gold bars at the end of the game wins.
Strategic Tips
- Strategically place construction plans to influence multiple areas simultaneously.
- Position your player token wisely to quickly switch to new valuable areas.
- Watch other players' moves to predict their strategy and outmaneuver competition.
This game combines strategy with a touch of luck, as the distribution of gold bars is random while area control needs strategic planning.
