Objective
The Legends of Andor is a cooperative board game where players work together as heroes to protect the kingdom of Andor from various threats. The objective of the game is to complete various quest objectives described in each legend before the threats overtake the kingdom or other conditions render the game lost.
Setup
- Lay out the board: Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Choose a legend card: Select the legend you want to play. Follow the instructions on the legend card to set up the board and any additional elements.
- Select heroes: Each player chooses a hero and takes the corresponding hero board and figure.
- Equipment and Willpower: Each hero starts with base willpower points, a specific number of hero dice, and possibly special equipment as indicated on the hero board.
- Event cards and Legend track: Shuffle the event cards and place them nearby. Prepare the legend track to follow the progress through the legend.
- Hourglasses: Place the hourglasses on the starting space of the time track.
- Place creatures: Position creatures on the game board as instructed by the chosen legend.
Game Flow
The game proceeds over several days divided into day sequences. Each day is composed of the following phases:
- Morning Phase: Draw an event card and resolve its action.
- Hero Phase: Players take turns performing actions, with each action consuming time on the day track. Possible actions include:
- Movement: Move your figure to an adjacent field.
- Combat: Attack a creature by rolling your hero dice and comparing against the creature's combat values.
- Interaction: Engage with certain game elements like wells or rune stones.
- Rest: Recover and regain willpower points.
- Night Phase: Once all players pass, the day ends, and creatures on the board move. A new day then begins.
Special Rules
- Cooperative Elements: Players can choose to assist in battles if located on the same space.
- Willpower and Strength: These stats determine a hero’s strength in combat; they can be increased or decreased through game events.
- Legend Track: This monitors the number of days played and certain events or objectives that must be achieved.
End of the Game
A legend ends when one of the victory or defeat conditions is fulfilled, usually when the main quest is completed successfully or the kingdom is overtaken by a threat.

- Watch the Legend Track carefully: Anticipate which events might occur and plan ahead.
