Objective of the Game

Bärenpark is a strategy game where players act as city planners endeavoring to design the most appealing bear wildlife park. The objective is to score the most points by skillfully placing park tiles and using construction tiles.

Game Components

• Game Boards: Each player receives an empty park board with spaces to place park tiles.
• Park Tiles: These come in various shapes and sizes, representing different park elements like enclosures, animal houses, utility facilities, and green areas.
• Construction Tiles: Divided into three types: enclosures, animals, and utility facilities.
• Task Cards: Provide additional objectives for players, which are optional.

Setup

1. Each player gets an empty game board where tiles will be placed.
2. The various park tiles are sorted by shape and laid out.
3. Task cards can be added to set additional objectives.

Gameplay

1. Turn Order: Players take turns in a clockwise direction.
2. Place Tiles: On their turn, a player selects a park tile from the pool and places it on their board, following these rules:
3. Park tiles must fully fit within the grid on the player's board.
4. They cannot go over the edges or cover already occupied spaces.
5. Each placed tile immediately activates symbols on which it is placed, allowing players to acquire new tiles.
6. Expansion: When a player covers all the empty spaces of a park section, they can acquire a new section to expand their board.
7. Scoring: Enclosures, animal houses, and other park structures earn points. Additional points can be scored through completed objectives from task cards.

End of the Game

The game ends once a player has fully completed their fourth park section (or all park tiles and enclosures have been taken). The final scoring includes: - Summing up points for all park tiles. - Additional points for completed task cards. - The player with the highest score wins.

Strategies

• Plan Ahead: As the tiles come in various shapes, planning ahead to avoid gaps and place the most efficient tiles is crucial.
• Keep Task Cards in Mind: These often decide victory or defeat, so it's beneficial to keep these objectives in view.
• Optimize Space: Maximize each park section before adding another one.
