Objective of the Game

In Das Gold der Inka, players take on the roles of adventurers in search of the treasure of the Incas. The aim of the game is to collect the most loot by exploring temples and collecting treasures.

• Game board with various temple paths
• Treasure cards
• Trap markers
• Player tokens
• Treasure chests or markers to count collected loot

Setup

1. Set up the game board: Place the game board in the center of the table.
2. Distribute player tokens: Each player selects a token and places it at the starting point of the first temple.
3. Distribute treasure cards: Shuffle the treasure cards and form a face-down deck.
4. Prepare trap markers: Place the trap markers next to the game board.
5. Determine the starting order: Randomly decide which player starts first.

Gameplay

A turn consists of the following phases:

1. Movement: The active player moves their token forward by 1 space in the temple.
2. Draw a treasure card: The player draws a treasure card and reads its effect aloud.
3. Resolve the treasure card event: The player executes the event on the card. This can include collecting treasures or triggering traps.
4. Activate trap (if necessary): If a trap card is drawn, the player must place a trap marker on the current space and suffer the consequences, such as skipping a turn.

This is repeated for all players in turns until all temples are completed.

Special Rules

• Trap spaces: If a player lands on a space with a trap marker, they must skip a turn or give up one of their collected treasures.
• Cooperation: There are special cards that allow players to cooperate with another player to overcome a particularly strong trap or to share large treasures.

End of the Game

The game ends when all temples have been explored or the treasure cards are exhausted. The winner is the player with the most collected treasures.

Strategic Tips

• Risk-taking: Decide wisely whether to take the risk of moving one more space or end your turn to avoid falling into a trap.
• Prioritize objectives: Try to collect treasures that help you reach a certain loot amount faster.
• Observe opponents: Pay attention to which treasures and traps your opponents are collecting to better predict their strategies.
