Objective of the Game

The objective in "Catan – Germany Edition" is to collect the most victory points by developing your cities and expanding your infrastructure. This version combines the classic elements of "The Settlers of Catan" with a thematic focus on Germany and its landmarks.

Game Components - A large game board of Germany with cities and roads. - Road, city, and landmark cards. - Resource cards (wood, brick, grain, wool, ore). - Special cards. - Two dice. - Playing pieces for cities and roads.

Setup

1. Game Board: Place the Germany board in the center of the table.
2. Cities and Roads: Each player receives a set number of city and road figures in their color.
3. Initial Placement: Players take turns placing their first cities and roads on the map.
4. Resources: Players receive resources according to the landscapes adjacent to their cities.

Gameplay

1. Resource Production: At the start of each turn, roll two dice. Each city adjacent to landscapes with the number rolled produces resources.
2. Trading: Players can trade resources among themselves. Negotiating terms is part of the strategy.
3. Building: Players can build roads, new cities, or landmarks using specific combinations of resource cards:
4. Road: 1 wood, 1 brick
5. City: 3 wood, 2 grain, 2 wool
6. Landmarks: require different resource combinations as indicated on the cards and provide victory points or bonuses.
7. Robber: If a "7" is rolled, the active player moves the robber, which entails:
8. Discarding Cards: Players with more than 7 resources must discard half.
9. Moving the Robber: The player moves the robber and can steal a resource from another player.

Ending the Game

The game ends when a player reaches a certain number of victory points (typically 12) by constructing and developing their infrastructure.
