Objective of the Game

In "Gefiederter Spatz", the goal is to score as many points as possible by playing bird cards and strategically using food tokens. The player with the highest score at the end of the game wins.

Components

• Bird Cards: Each card features a bird with information about its abilities and point value.
• Food Tokens: These are required to play bird cards.
• Birdhouse Dice: Indicates available food resources.
• Habitat Boards: Each player has a board divided into different habitats.
• Egg Tokens: Used to accumulate additional points.

Setup

1. Each player takes a habitat board and reference card.
2. Shuffle the bird cards, place them as a draw pile, and draw three open cards.
3. Roll the birdhouse dice and place them accordingly.
4. Each player receives five bird cards and five random food tokens.
5. Decide how many cards to keep (discard corresponding food tokens).

Gameplay

The game spans four rounds, each consisting of a varying number of turns, depending on the player count. Each round offers specific bonus goals for extra points.

A turn consists of:

1. Select an Activity
2. Play a Bird: Place a bird card in your habitat, paying the required food tokens.
3. Gather Food: Take one or more food tokens from the birdhouse dice matching the visible symbols.
4. Lay Eggs: Add eggs to your placed birds.

5. Draw Cards: Draw new bird cards from the supply.

6. Activate Abilities

7. Some birds have special abilities triggered when played or via specific actions.

Scoring

At the end of each round, score according to the bonus objectives. Players earn points for: - The number and type of laid eggs. - Collected bird cards and their special abilities. - Collected food tokens and played card combinations.

After the final round, perform scoring. The player with the highest cumulative score from bird placements, eggs, food, and bonus objectives wins the game.
