Objective of the Game
Rumis is a strategic board game where players aim to arrange their blocks in a three-dimensional structure on a grid to have the most visible blocks from a top view. The goal is to strategically position your blocks so that they take up more visible surface area from above than your opponents'.
Game Components
- A game board, which comes in different shapes and grid sizes depending on the chosen scenario.
- Blocks in various colors, which players use to build their structures. Each player receives a set of blocks in their chosen color. These blocks are shaped like three-dimensional Tetrominos.
Setup
- Choose a game board. There are different templates with varying levels of difficulty.
- Each player selects a color and takes all blocks of that color.
- Decide on the turn order of the players.
Gameplay
- The game is played in turns, with each player taking their turn in sequence.
- A player's turn:
- Choose one of your available blocks.
- Place the block on the board with these conditions:
- The block must lie fully on the board.
- The block must share at least one face (not just edges) with an already placed block of their own color or the ground.
- The maximum building height is determined by the size of the chosen board (often equal to the number of players).
End of the Game
- The game ends when no player can make a legal move, or they all decide to pass due to lack of advantageous moves.
Scoring
- At the end of the game, players count the number of top-visible blocks of their color.
- The player with the most visible blocks wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Planning and foresight are crucial. Consider how your current moves will impact your future options.
- Block your opponents by preventing them from easily reaching large, unclaimed areas of the board.
- Use height to integrate into already utilized areas and prevent other players from expanding their visible blocks.
- Each game is different depending on the board and number of players, allowing for versatile strategies.
