Objective
The goal of Freie Pyramide (Free Pyramid) is to remove all the cards from a pyramid layout by finding pairs of cards that total 13 points. The player who efficiently removes all cards or scores the highest points wins.
Game Components
- A standard deck of cards with 52 cards, without jokers.
Setup
- Shuffle the deck well.
- Lay out a pyramid of 28 cards on the playing area.
- The top row has 1 card, the second row has 2 cards, and so on, until the seventh row with 7 cards.
- Each card overlaps the two cards beneath it.
- The remaining cards form the stock pile.
Gameplay
- Exposed Cards: Only cards that are not partially covered by others can be played.
- Card Combinations: The player can pair cards from the pyramid or between a pyramid card and the top card of the stock to make 13 points and remove them.
- Kings are worth 13 alone and can be removed immediately.
- Queens count as 12, Jacks as 11, Aces as 1.
- Score Points: When a pair is found, the cards are removed and the player scores points.
- Draw: If no open combinations are available, the player draws the next card from the stock.
- Win Condition: The game is won when the player removes all the cards from the pyramid.
Strategic Tips
- Play Efficiently: Remove cards from the lower rows quickly to uncover new cards.
- Utilize the Stock: Pay attention to the stock and plan ahead for upcoming cards.
- Remove Kings directly as they immediately total 13.
Special Rules
- If the stock is depleted and no moves are possible, the game ends.
- Aim to achieve the highest possible score through tactical play and good memory.
