Objective of the Game
Carla Caramel is a children's and family game where players act as ice cream vendors trying to serve ice cream cones quickly with the right amount of ice cream before it melts. The objective is to distribute all the ice cream servings as quickly as possible to clear your ice cream shop first.
Components
- 1 color die
- 1 ice cream cone stand with rotating inserts
- 16 ice cream scoops in 4 colors
- 4 ice cream shops (in player colors)
- 1 Carla Caramel figure
Setup
- Ice Cream Shops: Each player receives an ice cream shop in their color.
- Ice Cream Scoops: Randomly distribute the 16 ice cream scoops on the ice cream cone stand.
- Starting Player: Decide who starts first. The game then proceeds in a clockwise direction.
Gameplay
The game consists of multiple rounds. Each player takes the following actions on their turn:
- Rolling the die: The player rolls the color die.
- Determine scoop color: The player takes a scoop from the ice cream cone stand matching the rolled color.
- Special rule: If the player cannot take a scoop of the rolled color, they skip their action this turn.
- Filling the ice cream shop: The player places the scoops on their ice cream shop. The goal is to collect as many scoops as possible.
- Move Carla Caramel: After placing the scoops, the figure Carla Caramel moves one position forward.
- Ice melts: Whenever Carla Caramel reaches a player's shop, one scoop melts back onto the ice cream cone stand.
End of the Game
The game ends when a player can remove all scoops from their ice cream shop tableau. This player wins the game.
Strategy and Tips
- Risk vs. Safety: Try to plan strategically when to remove scoops from your shop to avoid them melting in the next turn.
- Unique Moves: Sometimes it's better to pass specific colors if they might overload your shop.
