Objective of the Game
The Kids of Carcassonne is a simplified board game designed for children, based on the well-known game Carcassonne. The objective is to be the first to place all of your figures (Meeples) onto the tiles laid out during the game.
Setup
- Tile Shuffling: Mix the 32 landscape tiles and arrange them in a face-down stack.
- Select Meeples: Each player chooses a color and takes all 8 meeples of that color.
- Starting Tile: The game begins with a fixed starting tile in the center of the table.
Gameplay
-
Turn Order: The player with the next upcoming birthday starts. Play then proceeds clockwise.
-
Draw a Tile: The active player draws a landscape tile from the stack.
- Place the Tile: The drawn tile must be placed adjacent to an existing tile. Roads must connect extending the roads on neighboring tiles.
- Place Meeples: Once a road is completed by placing a tile, each player who has the corresponding color on the houses along this road may place one of their meeples.
- A road is considered completed if it is blocked at both ends by other tiles or forms a loop.
Ending the Game
The game ends when a player has placed all of their meeples on completed roads, or when there are no more tiles left to place.
Strategic Considerations
- Tile Placement: Players should aim to prolong roads to be completed frequently to place meeples.
- Cooperative Opportunities: Although competitive, players can benefit from strategic moves made by others.
- Efficient Use of Roads: Since meeples are limited, making the most out of every placement is crucial.
Have fun playing!
