Objective of the Game
In the Game of Life, players navigate through different life stages, striving to accumulate the most money and wealth by the end of the game.
Setup
- Board Setup: Place the game board in the center of the table. Each player selects a car and places either a blue or pink peg, representing their character, in the car.
- Money and Bank Cards: Designate one player as the Banker, who manages the money and deed cards.
- Career and Salary Cards: Shuffle the career and salary cards and place them face down on the table.
- Starting Cash: Each player starts with $10,000.
Gameplay
- Starting Life: Players must decide whether to choose the College Path or the Career Path. The college path offers higher earning potential but requires an initial investment.
- Spin to Move: Players spin the spinner and move their car toward the end.
- Career and Salary: When landing on a career space, a player draws one career and one salary card. Players can earn as much as the salary allows.
- Investments and Life Choices: Throughout the game, players have opportunities to buy houses, start families, and take out insurance, impacting their end wealth.
- Luck Spaces: Landing on yellow luck spaces or red risk spaces prompts players to draw a surprise card, which may bring a favorable or unfavorable outcome.
Winning the Game
The game ends when all players reach the Retirement space. Players then sum their cash, the value of their houses, and any bonuses for having a large family or luxury car.
Strategic Tips
- Prioritize the College Path if planning long-term, as it can lead to higher salaries.
- Consider taking out insurance to mitigate losses from accidents or theft.
- Use risk cards wisely as they offer the chance for significant gains but also losses.
Special Considerations
- Life choices impact your final wealth score and, consequently, the chance of winning.
- The Banker's role is crucial in overseeing the financial transactions within the game.
