Objective of the Game
Böse Eins is a simple and exciting card game played with a standard deck of cards. The objective is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards while preventing your opponents from doing the same.
Game Material
- A standard deck of 52 playing cards
Number of Players
- Minimum number of players: 2
- Maximum number of players: 6
Setup
- The standard deck of cards is shuffled thoroughly.
- Each player is dealt 7 cards.
- The remaining cards are placed face down as a draw pile in the middle.
- The top card from the draw pile is turned over and placed next to it as a discard pile.
Gameplay
- The player to the left of the dealer starts the game and play proceeds in a clockwise direction.
- Each player must place a card on the discard pile that matches either the suit or the rank of the top card.
- Example: If the top card is a heart ace, you can play any heart or any other ace.
- If a player cannot match the card, they must draw a card from the draw pile. If the drawn card can be played, they may do so immediately.
Special Rules
- Aces: When a player plays an "Ace," they choose another player who must draw two cards.
- Jokers (optional): If jokers are used, they act as wild cards that can be placed on any other card.
- A player who has just one card left must call out "One!" If they forget and another player notices, the forgetful player must draw two cards as a penalty.
Winning the Game
- The game ends when a player has no cards left in their hand.
- The first player to get rid of all their cards is the winner.
- Optionally, the points of the remaining players' cards can be counted to determine an overall winner after several rounds:
- Face cards each count as 10
- Number cards count as their face value.
Strategy Tips
- Save "Aces" for strategic moments to hinder a leading player.
- Try to get rid of high cards early to reduce potential points against you if the game ends with a score count.
- Keep a close eye on other players’ actions and what cards they may lack.
