Objective
In Domino, players aim to be the first to get rid of all their domino tiles. The player who runs out of tiles first wins the game.
Equipment Required
- A set of Double-Six Dominoes consisting of 28 tiles. Each tile is divided into two halves, each marked with a number from zero to six.
Number of Players
Domino can be played by 2 to 4 players.
Setup
- Shuffle Tiles: Place all domino tiles face down on the table and shuffle them thoroughly.
- Draw Tiles: Each player draws a specific number of tiles:
- 2 players: 7 tiles each
- 3-4 players: 5 tiles each The rest of the tiles remain face down to form the draw pile.
Rules
- Starting Player: The player with the highest double tile (e.g., [6|6]) starts the game by placing this tile face up on the table. If no double tile has been drawn, the player with the highest tile starts.
- Game Turns: In clockwise order, players take turns adding tiles to the open ends of the domino chain on the table. A tile can only be placed if the number on one half matches the number on one of the exposed ends of the domino chain. Example: [6|3] can be placed against a [3] on a [3|5] tile.
- Drawing Tiles: If a player cannot place a tile, they must draw from the draw pile until they get a match or until the draw pile is exhausted.
- Double Tiles: These are placed perpendicularly and can be added to from both ends of the chain.
- Winner: The game ends when a player places all their tiles or when players can no longer place tiles. The winner is the player with the least number of points on their remaining tiles.
Strategy Tips
- Place double tiles early as they can be difficult to lay down later.
- Keep points low: Keep track of the points on your remaining tiles.
- Block moves: Attempt to limit your opponents' possible moves.
Domino is a simple yet strategic game that requires a mix of skill and luck.
