Objective

Arche Nova is a strategic board game where players work to build a modern, scientifically managed zoo. The main goal is to gain the most victory points by strategically combining conservation, research projects, and animal protection efforts to win the game.

Setup

  1. Prepare the game board: Place the main game board in the center of the table. It displays various areas for cards, projects, sponsors, and mission objectives.
  2. Distribute game materials: Each player receives a personal zoo board, 5 action cards, a set of player markers, and various tokens.
  3. Reveal cards: Shuffle and place the decks (animals, sponsors, objectives, and continent affiliations) in their designated spots on the main game board.
  4. Deal objective cards: Each player draws a handful of objective cards and selects a certain number suitable for the game.

Gameplay

The game is played in rounds composed of several turns. The sequence of a round is as follows:

  1. Perform an action: Players take turns executing one of the following actions:
  2. Play an animal card: Allows the player to introduce animals from their hand into the zoo, requiring space and reputation on the board.
  3. Build: Adds new structures or enclosures on the personal zoo board needed to house more animals.
  4. Association task: Collaborate with one of the five association boards to gain specific advantages.
  5. Play a sponsor card: Sponsors grant one-time or ongoing benefits that increase influence.
  6. Draw cards: Replenish your hand to expand options for future moves.

  7. Slide action cards: After performing an action, move the corresponding card to the left on the action track, reducing its power.

  8. Round effects and scoring: At the end of the round, certain effects may be activated, or points may be scored.

End Conditions

The game ends when a player overlaps the victory point track and the conservation track on the board. The current round finishes, and then final scoring takes place.
