group 2 - 6 Deutsch

Objective of the Game

In Um Reifenbreite ("By a Tire's Width"), the objective is to be the first to cross the finish line with your team of four cyclists. Skillful maneuvering, dice luck, and utilizing various track conditions are crucial to victory.

Setup

  • Each player receives a team of four differently colored cyclists.
  • The game board consists of several track segments that create a racing circuit. The sequence of track tiles can be changed to provide variety.
  • Each player places their cyclists on the starting positions as established by rules or mutual agreement.

Gameplay

  1. Start of Turn: Players roll two six-sided dice to determine their movement range.
  2. Movement: A player can use both dice values separately to move two different cyclists or combined to move one cyclist further.
  3. Drafting: Players can tactically "draft" behind another cyclist, allowing for more efficient movement.
  4. Overtaking: Players must be cautious of not being blocked; if a space is occupied, they must choose another path or cyclist to move.
  5. Terrain and Obstacles: Various sections like hills and downhills affect movement on the board. Sprint and mountain scores can also be played for additional points.
  6. End of Turn: The next player's turn begins after the current player finishes their move.

Special Rules

  • Drafting Effect: Players can follow in a line and conserve energy while moving.
  • Intermediate Sprints and Mountain Stages: Points are awarded for sprinting toward intermediate checkpoints and mountain finishes.
  • Crash Risk: By blocking other cyclists, a player may have to brake to avoid going off the track.

Strategic Tips

  • Team Coordination is key to moving all cyclists efficiently across the track.
  • Use Drafting by following others without energy loss.
  • Monitor the Environment for inclines or declines to plan ahead.
  • Smart Blocking: Block opponents strategically without hindering your own progress.

End of the Game

The game ends when the first complete team crosses the finish line. Points from potential mountain and sprint scores may also be considered to determine the winner. The team with the most points or the first to fully cross the finish line is the victor.
