Objective of the Game
In Mauerbauer, the aim is to construct city walls within a city plan and to connect as many valuable construction sections as possible. Each player attempts to gain the most influence, and therefore the most points, by skillfully placing their building blocks.
Game Components
- A modular game board with a predetermined number of construction sites
- Each player receives:
- A number of wall blocks
- A scoring marker
- Various action cards that can be used during the game
Gameplay
The game is played in rounds. Each round consists of the following phases:

Planning Phase: Each player draws two action cards and keeps one of them. These allow special actions or modifications.

Building Phase: Players take turns placing one of their wall blocks on the game board. They can extend existing sections or start new ones. The following rules must be observed:
- Blocks must adjoin existing ones but cannot be placed diagonally.

Closing areas result in a multiplicative effect that increases the total score.

Scoring Phase:
- Closed Sections: If a section is completely closed by placing a block, the player earns points. The score is calculated based on the number of occupied tiles multiplied by connected structures or resources points.

Dominance Points: Additional points are awarded for the largest continuous wall section.

Action Phase:
- In the action phase, players may use their action cards to relocate blocks, gain extra points, or interfere with opponents' plans.
End of the Game
The game ends when no more wall blocks can be placed, or when all players can't draw action cards anymore. The winner is the player with the most points.
Strategies
- Plan Ahead: Consider not only how to secure individual sections but also how to utilize the entire board to your advantage.
- Control Resources: Decide whether to secure a closed area or try to maximize the expansion of open areas.
- Timing of Action Cards: The right card at the right moment can be crucial.
