Objective of the Game
The objective of Monster Collection is to collect monsters and utilize their abilities to earn the highest score. Each player attempts to create a collection of monsters with the highest total value by the end of the game.

Setup
- Shuffle Monster Cards: Thoroughly shuffle the deck of monster cards and place it face down in the center.
- Draw Starting Hand: Each player draws five monster cards to form their starting hand.
- Determine Starting Player: Decide randomly who goes first.
Gameplay
The game is played over several rounds until the draw pile is exhausted.
Round Structure
- Draw Cards: At the start of their turn, a player draws two cards from the draw pile or the open discard pile.
- Play Cards: Each player can play up to three monster cards during their turn. Each played card may have an ability that is activated immediately.
- Utilizing Abilities: Utilizing an ability can have different effects, such as exchanging cards or drawing additional ones.
- Discard Excess Cards: At the end of the turn, the player must limit their hand to no more than eight cards by discarding the excess to the discard pile.
End of the Game
The game concludes when the draw pile is empty and no player can draw cards.
Scoring
- Count Points: At this point, all players count the points of their collected monster cards.
- Bonus Abilities: Some cards may grant bonus points depending on the combination of collected monsters.
- Player with Highest Score Wins: The player with the most points wins the game.
