Alcazar

Objective: The objective of Alcazar is to become the richest property developer by acting as an architect and investor to project and construct the most valuable buildings. Players accumulate "prestige points," primarily by owning valuable properties.

Components: - A game board with a grid pattern representing construction areas. - Various building parts representing buildings (foundations, floors, roof parts, etc.). - Cards representing construction projects or special actions. - Player figures acting as architects and guests. - Play money and prestige point chips.

Setup: 1. Each player receives a set of figures and a starting amount of money. 2. The building parts are laid out, as are the decks of construction project cards. 3. Each player draws a certain number of construction cards at the start (depending on the number of players).

Gameplay: - Turn Phase: The game is played in rounds, and each player takes their turn in order. During their turn, a player can perform one of the following actions: Buy a plot, construct a building, expand a building, draw a card, or play a strategic action from a card.

  • Buying Plots: Players can purchase free plots on the board. Each plot has a different value, depending on its position on the board. The plot is marked with the player's architect.

  • Constructing Buildings: To construct a building, a player must have the necessary capital and the corresponding construction cards. Buildings consist of foundations and additional floors that can be added.

  • Expanding Buildings: Players can expand existing buildings to increase their value. Additional floors can be added. Players can charge a fee to other players for passing through their buildings.

  • Drawing Cards: Some cards allow special maneuvers, such as "taking over" or replacing an opposing building.

  • End of Round: Once all players have taken their turn, the round ends.

End of Game and Scoring: - The game ends when a certain condition (e.g., all free plots are occupied or a certain number of rounds have been played) is met. - Players count their prestige points, which they may have acquired through completed buildings, cash, and plots. - The player with the most prestige points wins the game.

Strategic Tips: - Consider positioning: The choice of plots can be crucial to the course of the game. - Plan ahead: Try to accumulate more cards and resources to realize larger projects. - Observe opponents: Their projects can also be an opportunity for takeovers or negotiations.
