Candamir: The First Settlers is an adventure game where players take on the role of settlers building a new colony. The main goal is to collect resources, complete quests, and earn experience points through strategic actions and battles to eventually become the most successful adventurer.
Setup
- The game starts with placing the game board on the table. The board displays the land to be settled, featuring various terrain types.
- Each player selects a character token and receives a player board representing their character's abilities and experience level.
- Quests are shuffled and placed as a face-down deck next to the board.
- Each player gets starting equipment like herbs, wood, etc.
Gameplay
1. Round Structure: The game is played over several rounds. Each round consists of: - Preparation Phase - Adventure Phase - Movement Phase - Collection Phase - Supply Phase
2. Preparation Phase: New quests can be revealed, and events affecting the game's progress occur.
3. Adventure Phase: - Players choose which quests they wish to undertake. - Each quest requires specific resources or skills, whether battling wild animals or gathering herbs. - Success in a quest grants the player special advantages or rewards.
4. Movement Phase: - Each player can move their token on the board to access new resource fields or quests. - Movement is limited by the character's movement ability and terrain type.
5. Collection Phase: - Depending on their position on the board, players can collect additional resources. - Resources are vital for crafting items and trading.
6. Supply Phase: - Players manage resources on their board, record experience points, or trade items. - Wise trading and resource management are key to victory.
