Objective
In Dicke Luft in der Gruft ("Tricky Bids in the Crypts"), the players aim to free ghosts from a dungeon by guessing the correct color combination of ghost dice. The first player to free a certain number of ghosts wins the game.
Components
- 4 marble ghosts
- 7 color dice
- 1 game board
- 5 cardholders shaped like ghosts
- 1 ghost figurine
- Various cards: hint tiles and wall tiles
Setup
- Each player selects one cardholder and places it in front of them.
- Place the game board in the center of the table.
- Set the marble ghosts aside.
- Each player receives a ghost figurine and places it on the start point of the game board.
- The color dice are prepared.
- Shuffle the hint and wall tiles and place them ready.
Gameplay
- Start a round: The active player rolls all 7 color dice.
- Using the colors: The player can roll the dice as often as desired, but may only place one dice per ghost color combination each round.
- Hints and Walls: When a player feels confident, they lay out their dice on the ghost colors they believe are correct.
- Verification: The player draws a hint tile, which tells them if they guessed the color correctly.
- End of turn: If the player guessed correctly, they may free a ghost. This ghost is placed in the player’s figurine.
- Next player: The next player takes their turn.
The player who frees 3 ghosts first wins the game.
Strategic Tips
- Memorize feedback: Try to remember the previous rounds' hint tiles and your guessed pattern correlation.
- Optimize dice order: Don’t change guesses too often without reason, try predicting which colors are more frequently or less frequently used by other players.
