group 2 - 4 Deutsch

Objective of the Game

The objective of The Little Ghost is for players to work together to guide the little ghost back to its chest before daylight reaches Schreckenburg.

Components

  • 1 game board depicting Schreckenburg
  • 1 ghost figure
  • 1 day-and-night disc
  • 3 color dice
  • 8 color chips
  • 26 treasure cards

Setup

  1. Place the game board in the center of the table.
  2. Put the ghost figure on the starting point, the Owl’s Corner.
  3. Set the day-and-night disc to "night."
  4. Shuffle the 8 color chips and place them face-down around the board.
  5. Do not distribute any cards yet. Shuffle the treasure cards into a face-down deck.
  6. Players agree on a difficulty level and draw the appropriate treasure cards.

Gameplay

  • Start of Round: The first player rolls the three color dice.
  • Reveal Color Chips: The player attempts to match the rolled colors with the face-down color chips.

Actions:

  • Matching Colors: If all colors match with chips, the little ghost can be moved towards its chest.
  • Not Matching: If no match occurs after all dice are used, the day-and-night disc is turned one hour ahead.

End of Game

The game ends when the little ghost reaches its chest before noon, and the players collectively win the game. If the day-and-night disc reaches noon before the ghost reaches its chest, the players lose.

Strategic Tips

  • Communication is Key: Since the game is cooperative, players should discuss the exact positions of color chips to be more efficient.
  • Focus on High Success: Instead of following easy or secured paths, focus on planning riskier combinations for greater rewards.

Special Rules

  • At certain difficulty levels, additional modifications from the treasure cards can impact the game flow.
