Objective
In Boomtown, the objective is to earn as much money as possible by investing in the best mines and outmaneuvering your opponents through strategic deals and building. The player with the most money at the end of the game wins.
Components
- A deck of cards representing various mines
- Banknotes in different denominations
- Dice to operate the mines
- Bonus tokens and special cards with unique abilities
Gameplay
-
Setup: Shuffle the mine cards and place them facedown in a deck. Each player receives a starting amount of money.
-
Round Structure:
- Auction: Reveal a mine card. Players take turns bidding on the mine card to acquire it. The highest bidder pays the bid amount to the bank and takes the card.
- Income Determination: After the auction, the active player rolls the dice. The numbers rolled correspond to the numbers on the mines. Players with mines that match these numbers earn income from them.
-
Apply Special Cards: Use special cards to generate additional income or block your opponents.
-
Player Actions:
- Negotiation: Players may trade, swap mines, or make deals with each other.
-
Building and Upgrading: Use specific tokens or cards to gain additional bonuses or upgrade mines.
-
End of Round: Check if a certain number of mines have been exhausted, triggering the end of the game, or continue earning money to proceed with the game.
End of the Game
The game ends when all mine cards have been distributed or a player declares bankruptcy. Count each player's money. The player with the most money wins the game.
