Objective
The objective of Snail's Pace Race is to be the first to get your snail to the finish line in the Snail Race.
Components
- A board with a path of six colored squares, lined in a row.
- Six colorful snail figures.
- Two colored dice with the colors red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and orange.
Setup
- Place the board in the center of the table.
- Place the six snail figures at the start of the path, each on its corresponding colored square.
- Each player chooses one or more snails to bet on.
Gameplay
- The youngest player starts and play continues clockwise.
- Roll both colored dice.
- Move the snails that match the rolled colors one space forward.
- If a snail lands on an already occupied square, place the new snail on the next free space ahead.
- If both rolled colors are the same, move that snail forward by two spaces.
Ending the Game
- The game ends once the first snail crosses the finish line.
- The player(s) who bet on that snail win the game.
Strategic Tips
- While the game is largely luck-based due to movement being determined by a color die, choosing which snails to bet on and the order of their movement can influence the game.
- Since players can bet on multiple snails, there is often the potential to win even if it seems disadvantageous at first.
Note: This game is particularly well-suited for young children due to its simple rules and promotion of color recognition and rule-following skills.
