Sorry!

Objective of the Game:

The goal of Sorry! is to move all your pawns from the starting area around the board to the "Home" section. The first player to get all their pawns into their "Home" wins the game.

Components: - A game board with a track and special areas for each player (Start, Home, and Safety zone). - 16 pawns in four colors (4 of each color). - A set of Sorry! cards.

Number of Players:

2 to 4 players.

Setup:

  1. Each player chooses a color and places their four pawns in the Start area of that color.
  2. Shuffle the cards and place them face down in the center of the board.

Game Rules:

  1. Starting: The youngest player begins, and play continues clockwise.
  2. Turns:
  3. Draw a card from the deck.
  4. The card shows how many spaces you can move or provides special instructions.
  5. To move a pawn out of the start, you must draw a 1 or a 2.
  6. If you draw a 2, you may draw another card.
  7. Players may choose which of their pawns to move but can move only one pawn per turn.
  8. Pawns can only enter the "Home" space by exact count.
  9. Types of Cards:
  10. Number Cards (1-12): Move a pawn forward the number of spaces indicated.
  11. 7: Allows you to split the move between two pawns or move one pawn.
  12. Sorry! Card: Exchange one of your start pawns with any opponent's pawn on the board, provided they are not in the Safety zone.
  13. 10: Move forward ten spaces or go back four spaces.
  14. Board Rules:
  15. If a pawn lands on an occupied space, the opposing pawn is bumped back to its own start.
  16. Pawns in the "Home" area are safe and cannot be moved or swapped.
  17. The Safety zone can only be entered by direct moves, card actions, or from the start position.

Strategies and Tips:

  • Block: Strategically place pawns to block opponents' progress.
  • Aggression: Use the "Sorry!" Card wisely to hinder leaders or prevent opponents from entering your safety zone.
  • Safety Zone Management: Enter the safety zone as soon as you're close to it to avoid collision threats.

End of the Game:

The game ends when one player gets all four of their pawns into the "Home" area. That player is the winner.
