Objective of the Game
Poker Dice is a dice game that combines elements of poker and dice rolling. The aim is to achieve the best possible poker hand using five dice.
Number of Players
The game can be played by two or more players.
Game Setup
- Equipment: You need five special Poker Dice, which feature the symbols of the highest poker cards: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, 10, and 9.
- Choosing a Start Player: Decide the starting player by, for example, rolling the dice. The player with the highest roll starts.
Gameplay
- Rolling the Dice: Each player rolls all five dice.
- Choosing to Re-roll: After the dice have been rolled, players can choose to re-roll some or all of the dice to improve their result. Each player may re-roll up to two times.
- Forming the Best Hand: The goal is to form one of the classic poker hands:
- Five of a Kind: All five dice show the same symbol, e.g., five Aces.
- Four of a Kind: Four dice show the same symbol.
- Full House: Three of one symbol and two of another (e.g., three Aces and two Kings).
- Straight: Sequence of five consecutive symbols, e.g., 9-10-J-Q-K.
- Three of a Kind: Three dice with the same symbol.
- Two Pair: Two different pairs, e.g., two Kings and two Queens.
- One Pair: Two dice with the same symbol.
- High Card: If none of the above combinations are formed, the highest card counts.
Ending the Game and the Winner
After a set number of rounds (e.g., three rounds) or when all players have rolled the same number of times, the players' poker hands are compared. The player with the best hand wins the game.
Strategy and Tactics
- Remember the Card Symbols: Keep in mind the best poker combination you are aiming for.
- Weighing Risk: Decide if you already have a strong hand or if it's worth the risk to roll again.
- Use Psychology: Try to read your opponents' intentions and react accordingly.
