Objective of the Game

Chain Breaker is a strategic card game where the objective is to cleverly play cards to form closed chains and collect points. The player with the most points at the end of the game wins.

Game Components

  • A deck of cards with various colors and symbols.
  • Point chips to track collected points.

Setup

  1. Each player is dealt 5 cards from the face-down deck.
  2. The remaining cards form the draw pile, placed face down in the middle of the table.
  3. Each player receives a set of point chips.

Gameplay

The game progresses in rounds, each consisting of three phases: Draw, Play, and Scoring.

Draw

  • At the beginning of each round, the player draws 2 cards from the draw pile into their hand.

Play

  • The player must play one or more cards to form an open or closed chain.
  • Chain: A sequence of cards of the same color or ascending numbers.
  • Open Chain: A chain that can be extended with additional cards in future rounds.
  • Closed Chain: A chain that cannot have any color or number added to it.
  • Players may also add their cards to open chains that belong to their opponents.

Scoring

  • Closed chains earn points. The point amount is determined by the number and value of the cards in the chain.
  • Players collect points using the point chips.

End of the Game

The game ends when the draw pile is empty and all players have played their hand cards. - The winner is the player with the most points.

Strategic Tips

  • Aim to maximize your chains before closing them. More cards in a closed chain yield more points.
  • Pay attention to your opponents' chains to strategically add cards and potentially disrupt their plans.
  • Keep track of your point chips and plan ahead to maintain your advantage in the final round.
