Objective of the Game

In "Das tiefe Land," players take on the role of dyke farmers. The goal is to accumulate the most victory points, which are earned by completing tasks, collecting sheep and resources, and participating in dyke construction. The dyke is crucial as it protects against flooding.

Setup

1. Game Board: Place the board in the middle of the table.
2. Dyke Pieces: Have the dyke pieces ready.
3. Sheep and Resources: Distribute the corresponding cards and figures so each player can access them.
4. Action Cards: Shuffle the action cards and place them as a face-down stack.
5. Player Areas: Each player receives a farmer tableau, starting resources, and sheep, according to the instructions on their tableau.

Game Play

"Das tiefe Land" is played over several rounds. Each round consists of multiple Phases:

1. Action Phase:
2. Building: Players can perform building actions to build shelters or buildings on their farmer tableau.
3. Keeping Sheep: Acquiring and maintaining sheep on grazing areas.
4. Gather Resources: Collect resources such as wood, clay, and stones through specific actions.

5. Dyke Expansion: Players can choose to invest in the dyke expansion. The dyke protects all players from floods.

Winning Conditions

The player with the most points wins the game.
