Instructions Parchís

Objective

The objective of Parchís is to move all of your tokens from your starting area around the board to your home zone. The aim is to be the first player to do this with all their tokens.

Setup

1. Board: Place the Parchís board on the table. It features a cross-shaped track with four home zones, each matching a player's token color.
2. Tokens: Each player selects a color and takes the tokens of that color, usually 4.
3. Starting Area: All tokens begin in the respective start area of the chosen color.
4. Dice: Use one or two standard six-sided dice.

Gameplay

1. Beginning: Players take turns rolling the dice in a clockwise direction. The player who rolls the highest starts the game.
2. Turn Rules:
3. Each player rolls the dice once per turn and moves a token forward the number of spaces rolled.
4. To move a token out of the start area onto the board, a player must roll a 5.
5. If a player rolls a 5 and successfully moves a token out, they may roll and move again.
6. Once all of a player's tokens are on the board, they may move any token according to the dice roll.
7. Special Rules:
8. Capturing: Landing on a space occupied by an opponent’s token captures it, sending it back to its start area. The capturing player gets an extra roll.
9. Blockades: Two tokens of the same color on one space form a blockade. Opponents cannot pass this space, while the owning player can move them independently.
10. Home Zone: To move a token into the home zone, the player must roll the exact number required to land exactly in the end position.
11. Winning: The first player to get all their tokens safely into their home zone wins.

Strategic Tips

• Distribute Moves: Aim to have multiple tokens on the board to increase your chances of progress.
• Strategic Blockades: Position blockades wisely to hinder your opponents while maximizing control over critical areas.
• Capturing: Take advantage of opportunities to capture opponent tokens to set them back.
